Dear European Iaidoka and Jodoka,
Due to the ongoing pandemic, we all struggle to practice our techniques and skills. At the same time we can use this opportunity to sharpen other aspects of our Budo learning. Have you ever wondered where Iaido or Jodo come from, how Japanese etiquette works, or which term you cannot fully understand?
Let's ask one of our most famous European sensei, Louis Vitalis Sensei - 7th Dan in Kendo, Iaido and Jodo.
He started kendo in 1976 and has spent many years in Japan learning as much as possible about all three disciplines.
Vitalis Sensei takes time to answer all theoretical questions about Budo history, culture, etiquette or terminology
(not specific techniques or kata parts).
Louis Sensei has a list of your questions that he would like to "work off" little by little. We hope you all have another session
pleased with great questions. Of course we keep Vitalis Sensei busy 😉.
In the appendix you will find the slides and the recordings for sessions 1-7.
As always, you can distribute it in the dojos and translate it if necessary!
More and more dojos are opening and we are seeing fewer people attending the online sessions.
Therefore we come together for one last appointment:
If you don't know Louis Sensei, you can read a detailed report about his Budo life here:

Stay healthy and see you hopefully soon!
